Brief History of WAVMA

The World Aquatic Veterinary Medical Association was formed in 2006 as a not-for-profit professional association to serve the rapidly expanding discipline of aquatic veterinary medicine throughout the world.

The Mission of WAVMA is to serve the discipline of aquatic veterinary medicine through enhancing aquatic animal health and welfare, public health and seafood safety, and to support aquatic veterinarians, aquatic animal owners and industries, and other stakeholders.

Getting Started

Please take a moment to ensure your Member Profile is complete and up-to-date. To do this, please log in to your member profile. Under your profile are several tabs that display your current membership status, contact information, education details, Mentor Program participation and listserv subscriptions, payment history, and WebCEPD certificates. Under the Contact Information tab, be sure to select if you want to be listed in the WAVMA Online Directory. Under the Preferences tab, we encourage you to list yourself as a mentor for veterinary students.

Get Involved!

As a member-driven organization, WAVMA relies on its members to help set the direction and implement programs. We encourage members to get involved on WAVMA committees to meet new colleagues, forge valuable relationships, and help address issues facing aquatic veterinary medicine.
