Privacy Policy

  1. The World Aquatic Veterinary Medical Association (WAVMA) is a global association of veterinarians and veterinary paraprofessionals dedicated to the promotion and development of aquatic veterinary medicine amongst its members and the wider population. Our mission is to serve the discipline of aquatic veterinary medicine in enhancing aquatic animal health and welfare, public health, and seafood safety in support of the veterinary profession, aquatic animal owners and industries, and other stakeholders.
  2. WAVMA is a registered as a non-profit 501(C)6 veterinary organization in the USA. US Federal EIN: 20-8500089.
  3. The Secretariat is currently based at 25871 Duran Ave, Conifer, Conifer, CO 80433, United States.
  4. We collect and retain individual's information from online applications for membership, subscription to monthly WAVMA Updates, discussion listservs, the WAVMA CertAqV Program, the Pitts Awards Program, and those registering for WAVMA Conferences.
  5. WAVMA uses this information to validate the membership category applied for, that applicants for WAVMA’s CertAqV Program are veterinarians, that Pitts Awards applicants are veterinary students or recent graduates. All other information collected is used to communicate with those participating WAVMA opt-in programs.
  6. You are deemed to have provided your consent to provide WAVMA with this information through completing the application process for membership or by registering for any opt-in services provided by WAVMA.
  7. This information is held securely online and is not passed on to any third parties.
  8. It is only WAVMA appointed administrators and IT providers who have access to your information.
  9. You have free access to your information by logging in to your membership profile and can update/amend it at any time. It is up to you to protect your log-in information and ensure you use a strong password.
  10. If you have forgotten your log-in details then you can contact the WAVMA administrators at administrators@wavma.org.
  11. We will retain your information unless you request removal of your information by contacting the WAVMA administrators. This is to ensure you are contactable and complying with the requirements of, for example, the CertAqV Program.
  12. We use cookies and Google analytics on the WAVMA website (www.wavma.org).
  13. We will review the WAVMA Privacy Policy anually and update it as necessary.
