The Process

Individuals who desire to participate in the WAVMA CertAqV Credentialing Program will first need to register and pay the US$250 administrative fee.  When registering you will select a mentor (see list below) to assist and guide you through the requirements.  After you have registered, the mentor you requested will receive an automated e-mail to contact you and request you provide him/her with a copy of your resume or CV.  You will also receive an e-mail on how to download a document to record where you have obtained sufficient KSEs (knowledge, skills and experience/education) in each of the 9 modules or subject areas.  If necessary, you have up to 2 years to complete these.

When your mentor is satisfied you have sufficient KSE credits, he/she will request the WAVMA Credentialing Committee to evaluate these.  Once the Committee and the WAVMA Executive Board are satisfied you meet all requirements you will be notified, and will be e-mailed a certificate suitable for framing and display.

Please note: To maintain certification, individuals will need to be WAVMA Full Members and acquire at least 50 hours of aquatic veterinary CEPD over the following 5 years.  Recertification will require a US$50 application fee and evidence of this CEPD.
