More about this event

The times are changing. Global pressure will continue to strain wild fish stocks and aquaculture will need to supplement these demands. In conjunction with the anticipated increase in salmonid production in the United States, the Food and Drug Administration has announced a series of changes to the way medicated feeds will be labeled, distributed and used. These changes will certainly increase the demand for veterinary involvement in salmonid production, but will the workforce be adequately equipped to handle such calls? This talk will explore salmonid medicine in a culture setting and attempt to provide tips for the veterinarian new to such issues.
