The viral hemorrhagic septicemia is a serious rhabdovirus that devastates over 80 fish species worldwide. The virus has been isolated from both marine and freshwater fish species in the northern hemisphere. The talk focusses on the different genotypes of that virus and how it continues to mutate as it alternates between the open seas, the Great Lakes, and aquaculture facilities.
