More about this event

A variety of agents may cause lesions in skin, fins and eyes under farming conditions. However, due to the natural fish response to insults, these lesions appear nonspecific and, despite thorough diagnostic effort, the primary causative agent(-s) remain unknown. The aim of this presentation is to provide an overview of the most common causes of skin erosive/ulcerative pathology in Atlantic salmon reared in sea cages to improve diagnosis, classification, and control measures.

Presentation Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the pathogenesis involved in skin ulcers.
  2. Classification of skin ulcers for disease diagnosis.
  3. Use of appropriate disease control measures.
