Synopsis:

At the end of the 1990s, a new and devastating pathological process emerged in turbot aquaculture in Spain, causing the closure of most of the farms producing this flatfish. Here we will report how the etiology and pathogenesis of this problem was revealed from a multidisciplinary approach.

This WebCEPD in organized in partnership with the European College of Aquatic Animal Health.

Speaker Bio:

Dr. Roberto Bermúdez received his veterinary degree from the USC, Spain, in 2001, and a PhD in Veterinary Sciences in 2006. He was awarded the Extraordinary Award of Degree and Doctorate and currently he is Associated Professor at the USC. He has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed articles, 150 abstracts and book chapters. As partner of GapaVET research group, he studies different aspects of several fish diseases (turbot enteromyxosis, aeromoniasis, rainbow trout gastroenteritis, scuticociliatosis, malformations, flavobacterioses, viral diseases).
