This presentation will focus on developments in the area of ornamental fish medicine over the past 5 years. The topics covered will be based on published evidence and will encompass anesthesia, analgesia, surgery, imaging, pharmacology, and welfare.  This talk will assume the attendee has a basic understanding of fish medicine, natural history, anatomy, and physiology.

Presentation Learning Objectives 

  1. Become familiar with the latest developments in fish anesthesia, analgesia, and surgery.
  2. Become familiar with the latest developments in fish pharmacology and pharmacokinetics (with emphasis on antimicrobials).
  3. Become familiar with the important and emerging topics of fish welfare and humane treatment.
