 This lecture will cover the tranquillisation, anaesthesia and euthanasia of ornamental/pet fish. The availability of drugs, dosages and routes of administration will be covered.

This webinar is suitable for veterinarians, vet techs/nurses, vet students, research scientists and aquarists/aquarium husbandry staff.

Learning Objectives – participants will:
1. Learn about veterinary anaesthetic drugs that can be used with fish

2. Learn to monitor fish during surgery to access depth of anaesthesia

3. Instructions on building a fish anaesthesia chamber / surgery table

4. Post-anaesthetic recovery techniques

5.  Learn about euthanasia techniques for fish
