Happy Holidays from WAVMA!

On behalf of the WAVMA Executive Board, I wish all WAVMA members a great Christmas holiday season and a happy New Year!

This year has been an amazing one for the WAVMA activities! I'm proud to have served as WAVMA President in 2023!

Our community is enriched by people were awarded a certificate through the new CertAqVNT program, and by more CertAqV. We defined new strategic partnerships with national organizations that joined our community, including MEVEA in Chile and TAVA in Thailand. We reinforced partnerships with other partners, such as WAS, EAFP, and the ECAAH. We also strategically entered the FAO international platform on AMR.

I'm proud to have established a new strategic partnership with WVEPAH towards the establishment of a new "Professional Certificate in Animal Health: Aquaculture Production" (PCAHAP), starting in 2024.

In 2023 the very active WAVMA Education and Students Committee managed to deliver a WebCEPD each month, thanks to many kind contributors from around the world. These remains free to rewatch and to get CE credits for WAVMA members! Through our Education Resources programs we assigned awards to more students, thanks to the reinforced John L. Pitts Aquatic Veterinary Education Awards Program and Student Chapter Mini Grant. We officially welcomed two new Student Chapters, respectively in Calgary, Canada and Bristol, England.

We have a lot planned for 2024, including we are supporting a series of workshops though Central and South America, and continuing the above mentioned activities.

We look forward to serving you and the aquatic medicine community in the year ahead!

Please support your community with your WAVMA membership, and by becoming an active contributor of the WAVMA Committees. Everything you need to become a member or to renew your membership can be found here.
