Fish Welfare Dialogue has started

On the 26th April the first Fish Welfare Dialogue Webinar was given by Dr Chris Walster of WAVMA. The initial webinar is intended to introduce some of the complexities faced by those working in fish welfare such as:

The various definitions of welfare

The Science, Philosophy and Ethics of Fish Welfare

Conditions that Impact on Fish Welfare

Over 100 people from around the world attended the webinar and a recording can be found at www.fishwelfare.org. Over the next few months several other experts have confirmed that they will be giving webinars on specific welfare topics. It is hoped that the webinars will promote discussion between a global audience of both professionals and the public. This dialogue will culminate in a conference to be held at Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich, Germany.
